Manual Jornual Entries Alerts Automation

The automated tool was developed to serve as a monitoring system for alerts related to Manual Journal Entries, including verifying the compliance of Delegation of Authority (DOA) approval matrix.

Several databases, including the journal entries universe, log of daily journal entries post system, associates universe and exchange rates, were joined, cleaned and transformed through tableau prep to generate a new database with meaningful insights for the business and loaded to Power BI, to design and interactive dashboard that provide stakeholders with visibility about alerts and redflags defined.

The steps saved in tableau prep in the data transformation process allow us just include the inputs for the new month and the output will be automatically generated, which will be connected to Power BI to refresh and update the interactive visualization with the new information entered.

Throughout the whole design and development of this automation process was required not merely technical expertise, but also project management skills and soft abilities such as negotiating deliverables, translating business needs into technical requirements, communicating with various teams, managing tool transportation, and providing training.
